Thankfully the Guardian has resisted the premium content lure that others have succumbed to and continues to be true to its ethical roots. We, in the UK, often make fun of its earnestness but you're right to highlight its generosity of spirit and purpose.

I also love Toibin's work but wasn't that impressed with that piece. Looking forward to poking through the rest of the collection though.
